And now, after Queen’s Park originally gave a thumbs-up for Alto to go ahead, it might be taking it back. Kristy Cameron chats with David Bellerive, the founder of Go Alto, in Hour 1. It’s an independent public advocacy campaign that was launched in May of this year to organize grassroots support for the project. Meantime, Ontario has also seen a wave of policy changes, with an expansion of privatized healthcare being one of those items on the agenda. A man has been charged in connection with a bomb threat against the U.S. Consulate in Halifax, after a propane tank and several containers believed to contain flammable materials were found inside his vehicle, which was parked nearby. On Tuesday morning, Halifax Regional Police issued a brief statement noting that Ali Assakereh, 54, would be appearing in Provincial Court today to face charges of uttering threats and public mischief.
