The volunteer turning children’s radiation masks into works of art

Before five-year-old cancer patient Karter Bourgeault began treatment, a volunteer at Edmonton’s Cross Cancer Institute spent hours painting his radiotherapy mask to model Oilers player Connor McDavid, with a bright blue and orange 97 emblazoned on what looked like a helmet.
It was 150 years ago when First Nations chiefs and dignitaries met at Fort Carlton to carve out a lasting agreement on how to work and live as the modern shape of Canada emerged.
