Gordie Howe bridge now open to pedestrians, cyclists

As of 8 a.m. eastern on Wednesday, travellers can cross on foot or bicycle using the multi-use pathway on the Gordie Howe International Bridge.
An evacuation order was issued for several streets in downtown Halifax after police located a vehicle they said contained a propane tank and flammable liquid.

A man has been charged in connection with a bomb threat against the U.S. Consulate in Halifax, after a propane tank and several containers believed to contain flammable materials were found inside his vehicle, which was parked nearby. On Tuesday morning, Halifax Regional Police issued a brief statement noting that Ali Assakereh, 54, would be appearing in Provincial Court today to face charges of uttering threats and public mischief.
