Ottawa Now - LRT West Extension gets dealt another curveball

We are starting to gather a bigger picture of the LRT West Extension, and the damage that was done during the Canada Day downpour. OC Transpo says it could delay a full opening until 2027. Richard Holder, who overlooks the City of Ottawa’s Rail Construction Program, says the damage was so severe between Moodie and New Orchard that OC Transpo isn’t ruling out the possibility of having to rip up some of the tracks. Holder said the assessment period is underway, and it’s still early in the process, but it’s looking like not much can be salvaged.
