Smouldering ruins left after B.C. lake fire

Charred debris and still-smouldering fires are all that remain along portions of the west side of Okanagan Lake in B.C.’s Interior. The chief of the Okanagan Indian Band said 230 homes had been lost on the reserve.
Highway 401 was closed in both directions Wednesday night near Gananoque, Ont., following a collision involving several vehicles, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
