Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Fri. August 7th, 2026

August 7, 2026

Starting this Fall, Nova Scotia’s Minister of Public Works says the province plans to ban children under the age of 14 from riding electric scooters and e-bikes. Meantime, new details of the trade negotiations between Canada and the United States are being unveiled, and it appears that concessions are being made. CTV News has confirmed that U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum will be lowered if Canada revokes its ban on American alcohol products. Flavio Volpe, the President of the Automotive Parts and Manufacturers' Association of Canada, says this is all about give and take, and we need to find compromises somewhere. But while this could be good news for the Auto sector, Canadian distillers might be having a different reaction to Friday’s developments. We dig deeper in Hour 3 with Adam Malmberg, the Director of Business Development at Dunrobin Distilleries.
