An iconic water tower from 1924 has greeted drivers entering Smiths Falls from every direction for over a century. However, that local skyline is about to change forever, as City Council has voted to proceed with demolition. Officials call it a difficult decision, but say the cost to investigate and repair the out-of-service structure is simply too high. Smiths Falls Mayor Shawn Pankow joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. The incident happened on Friday around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Coronation Road and Lyndebrook Road in Whitby, police said.
