Ottawa Now - Greely residents catching up on sleep after a propane truck crash creates a stressful Tuesday night
August 19, 2026
Dozens of homes in Greely were evacuated Tuesday night after a crash involving a propane tanker truck. Ottawa Police say it happened just before 7 o’clock on Parkway Road. The truck was carrying approximately 7,000 litres of liquified propane when it rolled onto its side. And once the leak started, a series of evacuations were ordered near Parkway Road and Cedar Lane. Eventually, a Hazmat crew was brought in to mitigate the situation, and the mess was cleaned up. Trisha Presley lives in Greely, close to where the tanker crashed. She called 9-1-1, was one of the first to evacuate, and was one of the last to return. Presley joins Kristy Cameron to summarize a stressful 24 hours.
