Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. July 21st, 2026

July 21, 2026

A new survey shows that 8-in-10 Canadians feel their vehicles are vulnerable to theft, despite a recent drop in car thefts nationwide. Data from Angus Reid and Équité Association reveals that, while thefts did decrease in 2025, thieves are using advanced technology to bypass standard security systems. Lorraine Sommerfeld, a Driving.ca columnist, joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, making new friends as an adult is way tougher than making friends as a little kid. Keeping these friendships, as an adult, is even tougher. So on today’s edition of Self-Help Tuesday with psychotherapist Benslyne Avril, we are looking at why adult friendships fade, how you can actually save them, and how you can make some new ones.
