Reminder: Make a service request for curbside waste collection of larger storm debris

August 21, 2026
Residents disposing of storm-related waste at curbside are asked to make a service request so collection can be scheduled.

If you have storm-related waste at the curb from the July 1, August 10, or August 12 weather events, please submit a service request so it can be collected.

As cleanup continues across the city, storm-related waste is being collected separately from regular weekly waste collection. How you request collection depends on the type of storm-related waste.

  • For tree debris from the August 12 windstorm, please call 3-1-1 and tell the agent the debris came from a private treeOnline requests are not available for private tree debris collection. Note: If a contractor is helping with cleanup, they are responsible for removing and disposing of the tree debris rather than placing it at the curb for City collection.
  • For flood-related waste, place all eligible materials at the curb, then request collection by calling 3-1-1 or submitting an online service request. If you submit a request online, select "storm-related waste" under "What is the issue?"

If your basement flooded during these storms, please report it using this online form. Your report helps us understand the extent of flooding across Ottawa and supports future planning and emergency response efforts.
