More grizzly bears killed in 2024 than any other year on record in Alberta

Data from the Alberta government indicates 40 grizzlies were killed by people in 2024, with 21 of those bears killed by law enforcement. Those are the highest grizzly bear mortality numbers of any year on record, and the only year in which more than half of the total deaths were carried out by law enforcement.
A Brampton man convicted of firing a gun during the deadly 2023 shooting that killed one person and wounded three others has been sentenced to 10 years and nine months in prison.

OC Transpo’s General Manager isn’t ruling out a redesign of Moodie Station on the O-Train’s Western Extension. This comes after a Canada Day downpour wreaked a lot of havoc in the area.
