Morning Update: A new trade deal remains in the cards

Good morning. We’ve reached the tit-for-tat phase of the trade war. More on that below, along with Ukraine’s Independence Day and Iran’s so-called “economic D-Day.”
The meeting being arranged by the Quebec premier and CAQ leader for Monday night comes as Canada prepares to impose retaliatory tariffs on a wide range of U.S. goods the following day. The tariffs will range from 15 to 50 per cent and apply to products including dairy, steel, copper and some beauty products.
