Traffic impacts for the Capital Pride Parade
Get your flags and your sparkles ready – the Capital Pride Street Festival and Parade return this weekend, bringing vibrant celebrations and some temporary traffic impacts downtown.
The following road closures will be in effect during the street festival from 6 pm on Friday, August 28, to 2 am on Sunday, August 30:
- Bank Street, between Slater Street and Gladstone Avenue
The following road closures will be in effect for the parade on Sunday, August 30:
- From 6 am to 4 pm
- Wellington Street, between Booth Street and Vimy Place
- From 12:15 pm to 4 pm
- Wellington Street, between Booth Street and Bank Street
- From 12:30 pm to 4 pm
- Bank Street, between Wellington Street and Albert Street
- From 12:30 pm to 4 pm
- Albert Street, between Bank Street and O’Connor Street
Additionally, Chaudière Bridge and Portage Bridge will be closed from 12:15 pm to 3 pm.

OC Transpo
OC Transpo will maintain bus service during the Capital Pride Festival, with the following detours in place:
- Routes 6, 7, and 11 will be detoured due to the closure of Bank Street between Slater Street and Gladstone Avenue from 4:30 pm on Friday, August 28 until midnight on Monday, August 31.
- Routes 6 and 7: Northbound trips will use Metcalfe Street and southbound trips will use O’Connor Street.
- Route 11: Eastbound trips will use Kent Street and westbound trips will use Lyon Street.
- Routes 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 will be detoured for the duration of the Capital Pride Parade from 11:45 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday, August 30. All trips affected by road closures during the parade will be detoured via adjacent streets.
Para Transpo customers attending the Capital Pride parade will be dropped off and picked up at Booth Street at Vimy Place. Para Transpo pick-up and drop-off for other Pride Festival events will be located on O'Connor Street at Laurier Avenue, and on Gilmour Street at Derby Place.
