Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. September 3rd, 2026

September 3, 2026

A member of the Bell Media family is in the middle of an inspirational 6-day journey – one that started this past weekend in Montreal. Ziyada Callender is a cancer survivor and she is walking 240 kilometres all the way back to Canada’s Capital. She was 40 when she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and Ziyada is using this trek to raise money for cancer research and encourage others to pay closer attention to their health. She joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, the City of Ottawa is drawing up its policy on data centres, as a new wave of facilities is on the horizon. Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante wants Canada’s Capital to be ready, placing a motion for City Staff to come up with a framework. We dig deeper with our Reality Check Panel.
