A member of the Bell Media family is in the middle of an inspirational 6-day journey – one that started this past weekend in Montreal. Ziyada Callender is a cancer survivor and she is walking 240 kilometres all the way back to Canada’s Capital. She was 40 when she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and Ziyada is using this trek to raise money for cancer research and encourage others to pay closer attention to their health. She joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, the City of Ottawa is drawing up its policy on data centres, as a new wave of facilities is on the horizon. Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante wants Canada’s Capital to be ready, placing a motion for City Staff to come up with a framework. We dig deeper with our Reality Check Panel.

All shows and events at Meridian Theatres have been cancelled for the rest of 2026 due to the Canada Day flooding. According to City Staff, floodwater caused ‘considerable damage’ to the Centrepointe theatre – from the main theatre stage, to the orchestra pit, to front rows of seating, and the studio theatre.
