A member of the Bell Media family is in the middle of an inspirational 6-day journey – one that started this past weekend in Montreal. Ziyada Callender is a cancer survivor and she is walking 240 kilometres all the way back to Canada’s Capital. She was 40 when she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and Ziyada is using this trek to raise money for cancer research and encourage others to pay closer attention to their health. She joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, the City of Ottawa is drawing up its policy on data centres, as a new wave of facilities is on the horizon. A Calgary judge has set aside an absolute discharge in a sexual assault case where a permanent Canadian resident argued he could face immigration consequences for a conviction. Haagen Sagli pleaded guilty to the May 12, 2024, sexual assault of a woman he met at a bar. The Norwegian citizen has been living here since he was 16, and his lawyer argued a conviction could lead to his deportation.
