National Hydro-Electric and Nuclear Energy Grid

November 16, 2024

"All patriotic Canadians should demand a National Hydro-Electric and Nuclear Power Plan."

Canada's First Generation built our nation's railway, forging a bond between East and West that fueled our political and economic growth.

Our World War II Generation followed suit with the Trans-Canada Highway, a vital artery that propelled Canada forward as we neared our Centennial.

Now, it's our turn to build a national Hydro-Electric and Nuclear Energy Grid.

Provinces like British Columbia, Manitoba, Quebec, and Newfoundland are blessed with abundant hydroelectric power. While a portion is exported to the United States, significant surplus remains untapped.

To meet growing energy demands and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, we must also establish large-scale nuclear power plants in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia. We also need to build a new additional plant for Ontario to handle population growth. By integrating these clean energy sources into a national grid, we can secure a sustainable and prosperous future for generations to come.

The global shift towards electric vehicles is accelerating. In 2023 alone, 20% of all new passenger cars sold worldwide were electric. As transportation evolves, so too must our energy infrastructure. We need to understand blue-collar economic manufacturing is beginning to look for green energy places. We also need to understand the AI tech revolution is going to NEED a vast amount of clean energy.

The Canadian government must exercise its constitutional authority to invest in critical infrastructure and modernize our provincial power grids. All patriotic Canadians should demand a National Hydro-Electric and Nuclear Power Plan. Together, we can create a cleaner, more prosperous nation and preserve our planet for future generations.

Interesting. I’m not a fan of nuclear as I don’t consider it clean energy.  No Greens do. Hydro electric does a great deal of damage to the environment during construction.

I agree we need more energy sources, especially clean energy so I’d prefer a national green energy plan.  Or a combination of the two. Diversification is always the best option.

Personally, I think electricity grids are too vulnerable to attack, an act of terrorism or even the wrath of Mother Nature as we saw in Ottawa and Montreal during the Ice storm in 1998.  If every house and building had solar panels on the roof, we would need less energy overall because they would all be self sufficient.

There’s a lot of money in electricity, which as we know often leads to corruption. As it has in Ontario.

Decentralized and diversified are my preferred options.
