Pedestrian critically injured in collision near U of O

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition after being hit by a vehicle near the University of Ottawa Saturday morning, police say.
The head of the RCMP says he sees no evidence that significant volumes of fentanyl from Canada are being smuggled into the United States.The deadly opioid is a pressing Canadian problem, RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme says. However, he stressed that he is not aware of numbers that show fentanyl is crossing south in what U.S. President Donald Trump calls massive quantities to justify threats of tariffs on this country. The levies on all Canadian imports could be announced as soon as Tuesday.
