Tumbler Ridge began as a coal mining community in northeastern British Columbia in 1981 and grew steadily until the 1990s, when coal prices declined.
Dillon Lee and Lara Jamieson helped rescue a pig that had escaped from a pickup truck as it travelled last Saturday on the 417 at Carling. The pair, and the pig's owner, were eventually able to load the animal into a proper trailer.
