It’s officially official. Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe will be running to keep his job in October’s municipal election, as he launches his campaign and prepares to submit his papers. However, his declaration day is followed by a noticeable stain. Experts are raising questions about a city-funded ad that was placed by Mayor Sutcliffe himself earlier this month. Skeptics are wondering if it followed the rules than bans city resources for election-related purposes. For added context, the ad was placed in a community newspaper the first week the election period opened after May 1st. CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent drops by the Hal Anthony studios in Hour 2. Meantime, thousands of workers at community and social service agencies across Ontario are on strike today. That includes frontline community living and social service workers, Developmental Service Workers, addictions counsellors, Group Home Support Staff, and others.
