The Ontario PC's - Just Trust Them

May 31, 2014

The remarkable editorial in the Ottawa Citizen on the PC's promises

I, like a few people, try to be knowledgeable about the platforms and promises of the various political parties as we get set to go to the polls in a few weeks. So, I do look at the details and try to determine which party’s policies would be best for me, my community, and the province.

Imagine my dismay when I read in the Editorial of the May 30 edition of the Ottawa Citizen. Concerning the number of new jobs promised by the Progressive Conservatives and the many critics who have shown the numbers promised by Mr. Hudak to be, well, frankly wrong, the Ottawa Citizen declares “The strength of the (PC) platform is in its direction and its policies, NOT the actual numbers assigned to the predicted results (emphasis mine).

So, I guess the message here is, “Don’t hold them (the PCs) to anything they say, because it’s probably wrong. Just trust them.” If only we could.
