Children Safety enroute to school

Hi Katherine,

As I, and many like me, are screening candidates for council to best represent our community interests, we came across your following promise: "I will make our streets safer by putting pedestrians first. I will invest in new infrastructure such as traffic signals at high-risk intersections, new sidewalks and crosswalks and work with communities to lower speed limits on residential streets."

Our experience in dealing with your office with regards to the Hilson-Byron intersction since you were elected was dissappointing to say the very least. Being ignored, brushed aside, misled, uninformed, and frankly made to feel that the safety of our children mattered little when compared to developers' interests, just begins to sum up how the community feels.

If re-elected, what action, if any, and withinin what time frame, do you intend to address this?

In the past, emails such as this went unanswered, and phone messages unreturned . It would be a change if this one was treated differently.

On behalf of 300 families with children at traffic risk,

Ahmad Lutfi
