Unpublished Cafe podcast: The SNC-Lavalin Affair—3.0

Today on the Unpublished Cafe podcast—Justin Trudeau is scrambling to save his brand and support as two prominent members of his cabinet are turfed. The Opposition Conservatives constantly badger the Liberals and in particular the Prime Minister, going as far as goading him into a lawsuit. Canadians are watching this issue despite the ferocious effort by the Liberals to change the channel.

Depending on where you sit on the political spectrum, you would either think Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott were not team players by letting the cat out of the bag, or they were “whistleblowers”, as they iterate, “speaking truth to power”. An interesting angle on this whole affair is that it could bring Canada a whole new constitutional moment.

This scandal continues to weigh heavily on the Liberals and their prospects in the October election. Whether it does them in, is still to be seen.
