Altogether we have less population than the state of California, so I doubt they would take us as individual states, but anyway, why would we want to? Look at the mess they have down there?
I fight corruption here in Canada because it’s getting worse, but Americans are surrounded by it. It’s everywhere. It’s really sad. We don’t want to be a part of it I guarantee you…
The way out of it is to secure new trading partners. There’s no reason why Canada can’t:
A pipeline to the Maritimes from Alberta is a non-starter. Quebec has already said no. But it could go across the Northwest Territories to Hudson’s Bay. And then shipped from there.
My money is on Mark Carney. He’s a real economist and a statesman, which is exactly what we need right now to counter the extremism south of the border. I’d also argue that Christie Clark is not a real Liberal. The BC Liberals were really the Social Credit who changed their name because of political scandal. They were/are more like Conservatives than Liberals.
However, both are better choices than anyone from this Liberal government. We hear rumours some of them want to run in the next leadership contest but I think they would be wise to sit this one out and wait for the dust to settle.
How do you think privatizing will improve service? It could be a test case for the whole system if it went well. Right now they are struggling to find a successful business model.
