There’s a lot of information on Unpublished.ca about the WAR the community fought against Taggart back in the day. See: https://unpublished.ca/users/lucie-r%C3%A9gimbald
It may have the approvals but that was a time when Rick Chiarelli and Ms. Taggart held hands around the Committee table (I witnessed it personally) and no one said or did anything. I could list other examples of blatant corruption around the decision making process, the pressure exuded by local liberal MPs, etc., but you get the idea.
It was a bad decision then bc it’s not geologically suited for it, so the city buying it now is a terrible idea, IMO. More gifts their developer donors.
The answer to anything Trump asks is always going to be NO.
I don’t usually agree with Harper on much, but I am glad to see that he’s stepping up for Canada now. Given everything he did to divide Canadians in the first place, It’s helpful for him to clarify where the line is for conservatives.
The thing Comservstive supporters don’t seem to understand is that it doesn’t matter what policies Poilievre puts forward because he himself has it made it clear he is MAGA. Christ, he was retweeting Q’Annon tropes during Trump’s first term. So, most Canadians are more concerned with his fascist tendencies, than his policies. We consider his policy playbook to be cover for his true intentions. In other words, based on his track record as a career politician, we don’t trust him. At all. Like, not for one iota.
