Soldiers, plumbers, volunteers begin to restore homes in Pimicikamak Cree Nation

Canadian Armed Forces personnel have arrived in Pimicikamak Cree Nation to help in the aftermath of a devastating power outage that damaged hundreds of homes when several water pipes broke. Plumbers are working on each home while local leadership gather food and supplies.
The city is considering a land swap that would see development company Denciti receive 9.1 acres of municipally-owned industrial land in exchange for a nine-hole golf course.
