WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nothing zaps consumer and investor confidence quite like a trade war.  U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs have slashed Canadian exports, idled some auto plants, depressed manufacturing, and slowed GDP growth, with signs pointing to the economy contracting further.
