Ottawa Now - Air Canada suspends all flights to Cuba, issues 'empty flights' to retrieve tourists
February 9, 2026
Air Canada has announced that it will be suspending all flights to Cuba until further notice, a decision that was fueled by an ongoing shortage of aviation fuel on the island. In the meantime, the airline will be operating empty flights to return roughly 3,000 passengers. Reyes joins Kristy Cameron on today's Ottawa Now.
The Ontario Public School Board Association said it's listening to public comments made by Doug Ford about whether he wants to eliminate trustees, without receiving official word.
