Canadian population saw 2nd straight drop as 2025 ended: StatCan

Statistics Canada states that as of Jan. 1, 2026, Canada's population was 41,472,081, sitting 'well below the levels observed in the fourth quarters of 2023 and 2024.'

Of the parents surveyed, 72.6 per cent said they "did not support this belief," while 10.6 per cent stated they did not know and 1.8 per cent said they preferred not to answer.
