Rural land in this Ontario city could become home for 72,000 people. Critics say council is moving too fast

Advocates are urging Pickering city council to reject a plan to develop 1,600 hectares of rural land in the city’s northeast, pending further consultation with First Nations and studies on the project’s environmental impact and cost.
