Some farmers in eastern Ontario are concerned about their future as Alto begins to refine the rail corridor that will one day connect Quebec City and Toronto. The company is promising a "no-surprise environment.'"

Quebec coroner Stéphanie Gamache will lead a public inquiry into the deaths of five unhoused people, which took place over the past seven months in Montreal. The city’s mayor, who was in tears in late March while announcing the deaths of two people experiencing homelessness, says the final report will include recommendations for authorities aimed at preventing such occurrences.
