The City of Ottawa is looking to replace its 10-year housing plan with another 10-year plan. Does the new plan, on paper, deliver the goods? Kristy Cameron checks in with Katie Burkholder-Harris, the Executive Director for Alliance To End Homelessness Ottawa. Meantime, 10 years after it was infamously launched by the Trudeau regime, the federal government is working to replace the troubled Phoenix pay system. There’s just one problem, though. According to a new report from Canada’s Auditor General, pay errors could carry over if the old backlog isn’t cleared. We gather instant reaction from PIPSC President Sean O'Reilly and CAPE President Nathan Prier. Plus, a Chick-Fill-A location is supposedly coming to College Square, and reportedly replacing a Beer Store location. However, that aforementioned destination for Ontario booze begs to differ. I am extremely saddened by the death of Peter Clark, the crossing guard hit while on duty in Barrhaven. I am also very angry as I feel that the removal of the speed enforcement camera near his location may have directly contributed to this tragedy. Contrary to what Doug Ford and his party have stated, research showed that speed enforcement cameras were effective in reducing the speed of traffic in school zones. I believe that drivers do reduce their speed when they know cameras are monitoring their actions. I hope that someone holds the provincial government partly responsible for this...
