A DNA profile led police to people believed to be the man's relatives in Western Canada, allowing them to collect a sample from a close relative to confirm his identity.
A police spokesperson told Global News on Tuesday the incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the 0-100 block of Laurier Avenue East.
