Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. April 15th, 2026

April 15, 2026

Since the Ford government’s speed camera purge last November, new data shows that Ottawa’s drivers are speeding in school zones more frequently. A recent report from Ottawa’s Public Works and Infrastructure Committee says the removal of these cameras has decreased speed compliance and increased high-end speeding. This was highlighted by Tuesday’s midday collision on Heron Road, as a car flipped onto its roof just outside of an elementary school. Has the new signage worked? Have you noticed more incidents of speeding since photo radar was removed from Ottawa’s streets? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today's Question of the Day. Meantime, a Waterloo-based company has claimed the AquaLunar Challenge Trophy. It’s a national competition that aims to convert lunar ice into drinkable water. In Hour 3, we go 1-on-1 with Daniel Sax, the CEO of the Canadian Strategic Missions Corporation.
