N.S. mother calls for more inclusion support after autistic son went missing from school

The boy, 5, ran away from his pre-primary group and was missing for a half-hour before he was found safely in the woods behind the school. His mother believes he waded knee-deep into a stream while he was gone.
Val De La Cruz and his son Jeb were lining up for a lemonade at the Lapu-Lapu Day festival last April when the two were struck by an SUV ramming through the crowd. One year on, the 2 ½-year-old is back to giggling and singing, but his parents are still dealing with injuries and fear.
