Carolina Hurricanes down Ottawa Senators to take 3-0 series lead

The Senators are in a familiar — and uncomfortable — playoff position. Jackson Blake scored the winner in the second period and Frederik Anderson made 21 saves as Carolina beat Ottawa 2-1 to take a 3-0 lead in the teams' first-round playoff series Thursday.

Four teams will begin the battle for the PWHL's third championship on Thursday, when the Boston Fleet host Game 1 against the Ottawa Charge (7 p.m. ET). The Montreal Victoire will open its series against the reigning champions, the Minnesota Frost, on Saturday (2 p.m. ET).
