For months, local politicians have raised alarm bells about a controversial safe supply clinic in Chinatown. Originally called Northwood Recovery Clinic, the name was later changed to New Dawn Recovery. Somerset councillor Ariel Troster called the operation out for its practices, saying it had taken a toll on the neighbourhood. She later collaborated with Ontario MPP and former Ottawa councillor Catherine McKenney, and called on the College of Physicians and Surgeons to investigate the private addictions clinic. And today, a change in guidelines was announced. Troster reacts to those new developments in Hour 2. Meantime, the Summer holiday season is almost here. In 2025, 40 percent of employees didn’t use their paid time off, opting instead to save their vacation days for later.
