The Record Ridge mine near Rossland, B.C., is set to go ahead without an environmental assessment certificate, with a B.C. Supreme Court judge rejecting a lawsuit calling for more scrutiny filed by local residents.
The scene came after weeks of negative headlines, including the purchase of a $28.9 million jet for the Premier's use, and polling that put Ford's approval rating at 21 per cent.
