Most, if not all, of Canada's Governors General have held high-profile positions before becoming GG, and, as it is a "figurehead" appointment, it's time to rethink the salary and perks these people enjoy. If we're not going to totally eliminate the office of GG, then that's the least we can do for hard-working taxpayers who get stuck with the bills. Read More
