A recent report reveals that mental health is the most commonly diagnosed chronic condition among Black women in Canada. Clinicians, researchers and patients say that’s not surprising, pointing to the ongoing effects of anti-Black racism and misogyny that they face in everyday life.
The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) has passed an emergency resolution that calls on Canada to criminalize residential school denialism. The advocacy organization, which represents chiefs countrywide, is holding its annual general assembly in Ottawa this week.
