A large squad of Qatari security officers, accompanied by camouflaged SUVs and light armoured vehicles, arrived in Vancouver ahead of Thursday’s FIFA World Cup match against Canada. The RCMP says the Qatari police are not allowed to carry their firearms within Canada and that the Mounties are closely collaborating with their foreign counterparts.
Toronto police said they were working under the theory that there was an exchange of gunfire in the middle of the crowd by two people “targeting each other.”
