Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Fri. June 26th, 2026

June 26, 2026

Fireworks on Canada Day, and a handful of other holidays, is a tried-and-true tradition. However, when it comes to setting off these explosives, pyrotechnics come with a lot of baggage. This new wave is continuing to develop in Bonnechere Valley Township, as they replace traditional fireworks with a 100-drone light show for this year’s Canada Day celebrations. Ben Favrin, the co-founder of Capital Drone Show, joins guest host Andrew Pinsent in Hour 1. But first, we bring you up to speed on today’s top headlines.
