Marginal offside calls, aided by technology, have been widely criticized in the FIFA World Cup 2026 for sucking the immediacy, momentum and joy out of soccer. But the Canadian Premier League believes it's at the forefront of a solution, as it trials what has been called the "daylight" offside rule in a bid to give more impetus to goal scorers.
