Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Mon. July 13th, 2026

July 13, 2026

Another heat warning is in store for Canada’s Capital this week, and it’s not letting up for most of it. How hot are we talking? At least 30 degrees Celsius, and as much as 45 degrees if you count the Humidex. In light of the latest stretch of flood damage, not everyone has access to a working A/C right now, and many are scrambling to get it back. How busy is the HVAC sector right now? Kristy Cameron picks the brain of Tim Suitter, the co-owner of Capital City Heating and Cooling. Meantime, businesses within walking distance of Ottawa Bluesfest say the annual festival has become one of their busiest times of the year. Over at Beyond The Pale on Albert Street, customers have been dropping by for a visit before the gates open, and sometimes returning after the encore. We check in with Vishal Tyagi, the brewery’s Chief Happiness Officer. Plus, we have an update to Fireworks Gate, and an apology to boot! CFRA’s Chris Holski has more on that.
