Zero-emission vehicle sales spiked nearly 20% in May, says StatCan

Sales of zero-emission vehicles soared almost 20 per cent in May, according to Statistics Canada, with more than 18,000 sold across the country.
Extreme winds in June caused the most insured loss of any event recorded in the province — $240 million — followed by the northern wildfires last summer. Higher losses can lead to higher premiums, and Canada should take more preventative measures, an expert says.
