Government tip-off prompted spy agency to look into federal scientist, CSIS says

The country's top spy agency says Natural Resources Canada approached it with concerns about former federal scientist Dennis Lu more than two decades ago — not the other way around — and has made a rare disclosure of one of its documents in court to set the record straight, CBC News has learned.

Mark Carney’s teleprompter quit during a housing announcement in Toronto on Wednesday, and the prime minister used the pause to take a shot at Donald Trump. “I would like to inform you that the teleprompter has ceased to function,” Carney said. “Unlike a certain world leader, I do not view this as a conspiracy.” The crowd laughed.
