Free legal assistance available at July 30 recovery information session

Recovering from an extreme weather event can be stressful and overwhelming. To help residents navigate through the insurance and recovery process, outside legal professionals will be volunteering at the recovery information session on Thursday, July 30 to provide free assistance.

They can offer general guidance on:

  • Insurance and claims
  • Flood-related legal matters
  • Other recovery-related concerns or questions

Recovery information session details

  • Location: Ben Franklin Place, second floor, 101 Centrepointe Drive
  • Date: Thursday, July 30
  • Time: 2 to 6 pm

City staff and its partners, including the Canadian Red Cross, will be available at this information session for assistance with various topics:

  • Information on counselling and wellness supports
  • Health and safety when cleaning flooded homes
  • Residential Protective Plumbing and Compassionate Grant programs
  • Building code and permitting process
  • Financial assistance and grant programs
  • Waste disposal
  • Property tax relief program
