After Yellowknife’s only cinema closed, film fans are travelling 1,500 km to catch summer blockbusters

Following the closure of Yellowknife’s Capitol Theatre, local film fans are taking measures to watch summer blockbusters. Resident Jacob Charpentier spent $1,500 travelling to Edmonton for Spider-Man and The Odyssey, highlighting the cultural void left in N.W.T. capital.
Although there are safety concerns coming from transit riders, a study is showing public transportation can improve health with physical activity, well-being, and community.
