Morning Update: Thousands flee B.C. wildfire

Good morning. Ottawa says it’s assisting B.C. after wildfires forced the province to declare a state of emergency and evacuate several communities. More of that below, along with the latest from the Middle East and the Tour de France Femmes.
Highway 401 was closed in both directions Wednesday night near Gananoque, Ont., following a collision involving several vehicles, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
