The number of property owners reporting flooding from the Canada Day storm is now closer to 6,000. Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe delivered an update this afternoon, while also indicating that provincial disaster relief funding could be announced over the coming days. Bay Ward councillor Theresa Kavanagh joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 1. Meantime, Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief squads are joining the cleanup efforts in Canada’s Capital. The group will coordinate home cleanouts, prevent mold from developing, and prepare properties for repair. We check in with Tammy Suitor, the Disaster Relief Manager for Samaritan’s Purse. The candidate nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Elections has closed. The nomination period began on Friday, May 1, and ended today at 2 pm. 181 candidates were certified, with 10 candidates being elected by acclamation.
